Hi-Crest
Hi-Crest Neighborhood
Spring 2014
The Hi-Crest Mural was created through a collaboration with neighborhood matriarch Betty and arist Jamie Colon. The design references the state flag, Kansas landscape and a pair of girls jump-roping.
The mural was painted with the help of many volunteers on the old Avondale East Elementary School.
The building is now home to Net-Reach, Community Resources Council and other community organizations.
The old elementary school serves as a community center for the neighborhood.
