ArtsConnect is so excited to pilot the Rebel Song Academy right here in Topeka. This program has been building the skills for young artists in KC for several years. In April & May of 2022, the Boys & Girls Club of Topeka hosted the program at their 29th & Adams location.
Local artists Preston Walker & Justin Fowler joined the Arts As Mentorship team to run the program here in Topeka and the young people who participated got to spend a day recording their songs and performed live at Chicken N Pickle KC as a finale. You can read the press release here!
ABOUT REBEL SONG ACADEMY
The Rebel Song Academy is a program of Kansas City-based nonprofit organization, Arts as Mentorship. This multi-session music camp takes an innovative approach to exploring young artists’ full potential through creativity, mentorship opportunities, and fostering their inherent sense of exploration and achievement.
The program guides young artists through the entire creative process, building life and career skills as we collaborate through music writing, recording, producing, and promoting — all consistent with modern industry practices.
