NexLynx Gallery (123 SW 6th): Discover Art Downtown and view the beautiful fabric creations of Kristine A. Luber. Kristine has been exhibiting her award-winning fabric artwork in Kansas and neighboring states for the past ten years. She makes fabric collages and 3-D art such as fabric flowers, leaves and butterflies that pop right off the wall. Her artwork is even wearable and practical such as light-weight fabric jewelry, women's shirts, dresses and artwork-upholstered chairs. Platform 785 Vintage Fashion (920 N Kansas - Inside Onyx Salon & Wellness Spa): This month's First Friday-only boutique theme is "Back to Old School!" Just in time for back-to-school, why not go as a trendy, eclectic fashionista? Or if you're an artist, develop your own style ... Topeka Art Guild & Gallery (5331 SW 22nd Place - on the west side of Fairlawn Plaza Mall): Topeka Art Guild is proud to present a special exhibit by educators teaching in middle and high schools through out Shawnee County. These teachers instruct a variety of subjects in addition  to visual arts. The guild is excited to showcase their art works outside their classroom.  Guild members continue their exhibit of 2-D in all media and 3-D works including gourd art, sculpture, glass art and more. Come visit with guild members and teachers and learn about their art while enjoying good food and drinks. Regular hours are Weds-Sat from 11a-5p. First Friday Artwalk hours are 5-8p.

Creations of Hope (727 S Kansas): Join the Creations of Hope Gallery in celebrating the work of Lola Williams as our featured artist in September. Lola states "I have been painting since 1989  in oils, watercolor and acrylics. My subject is most often nature - flowers, woods,  ponds and trees. I feel a connection to nature and it gives me peacefulness. Since I cannot copy nature, I just interpret it my way and that usually lies somewhere between impressionism and the abstract. Mulvane Art Museum (1700 SW Jewell Avenue - on the campus of Washburn University): Welcome visiting artist Armando Bogarin from Paraguay who is creating an installation in the south gallery of the Mulvane Art Museum. Meet father and son artists, Michael Young and Ian Young, whose work is featured in our "Novel Art" exhibition. Visit "Endangered Art: A Reprise" and "100 minus 5: Variations in the Art of Printmaking" in the upper galleries and visit Washburn student fellowship recipient, Stevie Delgado, whose exhibition, "To Kiss the Sun," is featured in the Rita Blitt Gallery. Drinks and appetizers served. Beauchamp's Gallery (3113 SW Huntoon - at Westboro Mart): Beauchamp's is opening a new exhibit featuring a collection of paintings by one of Topeka's favorite artists Mike Henry.  The exhibit, titled simply "BALLET" features solely imagery of ballet dancers.   Stop by and visit with Mike during the art walk and see ballet demonstrations by some of the dancers from Kansas Ballet. SouthWind Art Gallery (3074 SW 29th): Join us for an evening of food and fine art! Our “Sons and Daughters of the Prairie” exhibit features beautiful art of the land we know and love. STUDIO 831 (831 N Kansas): Our featured artist for September is Lois Van Liew. Her exhibit, “Hold That Pose,” is comprised of portraits of some of her personal contemporary female icons. The artist is exploring metallic paints and using them to symbolize enhancing the strength of the human spirit. FFAW hours are 4-8:30p.

Stephen Smith Gallery (931 S Kansas): Female technical influences transform to art! Topekan Cindy Manry enjoys the playful and whimsical allure of mixed media on canvas, bringing her talents as an interior designer to life for that unique, non-existent piece meant for the purposeful space. Colie Ryan, an engineer by trade living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has renewed her love for art expressing her creativity through dynamically-textured oil. A recurring word she commonly hears about her approach is “fresh.” Certainly an accurate description! FFFAW hours are 11a-8p.

Glaciers Edge Winery (1636 SE 85th - Wakarusa): We will have the tasting porch and patio ready for you to spend your September FFAW at the winery while sampling our newest wine, StrawBerryton! Bluegrass Band, Pastense, will be performing and our featured artist will be Segrist Studios... AND.....Lago Vista Grill be serving their original culinary creations! Enjoy wine and slushies by the pour or a bottle while enjoying live music! Feel free to bring lawn chairs to enjoy our outside vineyard view! (Only alcohol produced at Glaciers Edge Winery is allowed or able to be consumed on our property; guests consuming alcohol must be at least 21 years old.) Matryoshka Tattoo (918 N Kansas): Our September featured artists are Darlene Regnier and Jennifer Land with their exhibit “Moth To A Flame.” Darlene grew up in the art community of Omaha, Nebraska. She focuses on abstract and expressive art. Jennifer Land is a Michigan-based artist who scavenges symbols and images from every day and esoteric sources.  Each of her pieces are an invitation to look closer, contemplate and speculate on what might be the intended message. NOTO Arts District: In celebration of our upcoming event NOTO Live on September 13th, the Morris Gallery located inside the NOTO Art Center will exhibit "Break a Leg" through the month of Septmber. This exhibit pays tribute to performing arts of all kinds. Featured artists are: Barbara Waterman-Peters, Shelly Bedsaul, Gwenyth McClain, Hi Stockwell, Ryan Ogle, Staci Ogle, Scott Weir, Mark Feuerborn, and Tricia McCourt.
